Meet Isaiah Walker:
Dr. Isaiah Walker is currently Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of History at Brigham Young University-Hawaiʻi campus.
Isaiah is also the author of the award winning history book, Waves of Resistance: Surfing and History in 20th Century Hawaiʻi.

In September of 2006 Isaiah formed Halau Nalu to promote surfing among Hawaiian youth in Koʻolauloa and to perpetuate the cultural values of he`e nalu.
In his “spare time” Isaiah is Coach of the Kamehameha Schools National Championship Surf Team. He has been coaching for Kamehameha schools surf team for 5 years.

Dr. Walker is also known to guest commentate for the ASP. Recently he was a commentator at the HIC Pro, the Womens Pipeline Pro, and the Duke’s Oceanfest Waikiki.
